The 4 Main Regions

Ecuador is located in the northwest of South America, straddling the equator. There are four distinct regions in Ecuador: the Pacific Coast , which has a hot dry climate in the south and a humid, tropical climate in the north; the Andes, where there are hot, temperate and cold area, with valleys of varying altitude and climate: the Amazon region, where high temperatures prevail with steady rainfall; the Galapagos islands, made famous by Charles Darwin and his Theory of Evolution, often have a pleasant sub tropical climate.

Andes (Mountains)

Vast green and terra-cotta territories are situated along the length of the Andes mountain range. Mountains, snow-capped peaks, volcanoes, valleys, paramos, lakes, villages and historic cities are all revealed below an intense blue sky, waiting to be conquered and admired. Elaborate textile, wood and ceramic products reflect the skills of the land's inhabitants.

South Andes
Ancient ceremonial temples tell the story of living cultures. Heritage towns are home to artists, goldsmiths and silversmiths with their delicate craft. Valleys and lakes hold abundant species of flora and fauna. Spa waters flow in picturesque villages constituting the road to eternal youth.

Amazon (Jungle)
Progressive villages open their doors to a magical, mysterious universe. Vivid hues of green weave impenetrable forests in an ever-humid atmosphere. Unique wild species live in vast age-old lands. Indigenous communities keep their ancestral traditions alive, displaying their rituals, customs and wisdom. Tumultous rivers and waterfalls allow one to venture into the depth and reach ecstasy.

Playa (Beach)
Beautiful virgin fishermen beaches line the pacific coast of Ecuador from north to south. In addition to ports, fishing villages and modern cities, protected forests grow stunningly with their moist, gigantic roots. Traces of pre-Colombian culture and craft work show the artistry and skill of the people. This is where you can experience the excitement of water sports and savour delicious cuisine from the sea.

Galapagos
The world famous islands where prehistoric animals dwell. Birds, mammals, reptiles, plants: extraordinary species never before seen in any land. Deep tourquise sea to discover, where other beautiful inhabitants of the sea spend their days drifting. A space for science, research and the discovery of the islands' volcanic origin.
